Seriously!
My favorite phrase used to be “I burn cold cereal”….and really…if you leave me in the kitchen long enough I probably could burn cold cereal. (Nothing compared to my sister Nicole though, she has ACTUALLY used the phrase “I burnt the water”). My wife on the other hand, she’s an amazing cook (you could tell by the extra pounds I’ve packed on in the last 7 1/2 years being together). So since she’s such a good cook I had made the decision to add a product to Serendipity Deals that would make her life much easier when it came to cooking.
My wife loves making Italian Food, LOVES it. One of the greatest things she makes is chicken and pasta Alfredo. The only downside we had ever had with that is the 30 or so minutes you have to stand there and stir the Alfredo sauce. Honestly, she had always made me do it so she could take care of all of the other things she needed to do to make the dinner perfect. I’m a busy guy (you know, we have a store to run and all) so standing and stirring for 30 minutes wasn’t something I looked forward to. Along came a product that sounded too good to be true, an automatic stir cooker. This product tells me that it will not only cook the sauce and many other things, but it would stir it while it’s cooking. I couldn’t believe it. I contacted the manufacturer and told them I wanted one and if I liked it I would start selling them through the store. A few days later the package was at the door and I put it on the counter for my wife to try out.
That night my wife was craving Chinese Food. Now, according to the products manual it’s great for making all sorts of Chinese Food. My wife looked through the manual (which includes several recipes) and came upon my favorite thing to order from our local Chinese Restaurant, Chicken with Cashews.
Here is the recipe:
CASHEW CHICKEN
Prep Time: 5 MINUTES
Cook Time: 9 MINUTES
Required Ingredients:
2 chicken breasts; cubed
Add to chicken: 1 Tbsp oil 1 tsp corn starch, 1 tsp sugar, dash of salt. Set aside.
2 garlic cloves (minced)
4 ounces fresh snow peas
4 large mushrooms (sliced)
½ cup water chestnuts or bamboo shoots
¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium)
¾ cup chicken broth
¼ cup chicken broth w/ 1 heaping teaspoon corn starch for thickening
½ cup whole cashews
3 to 4 cups of cooked Rice; Rice must be pre-cooked
Directions:
• Preheat 30 seconds.
• Set to Temperature to 400F and Stir to ON
• Add Oil and garlic.
• Add Chicken. Cook 3 to 4 minutes
• Add Vegetables and ¼ cup soy sauce. Cook 3 minutes
• Add ¾ cup chicken broth. Cook 1 to 2 minutes.
• Add Chicken broth/corn starch mixture to thicken.
• Add Cashews.
• Serve Over Rice.
This is the recipe my wife followed (except she added mushrooms as well). That night I had the best Cashew Chicken dinner I’ve ever had. I can honestly tell you that I have no need to order out from a Chinese Restaurant again for that dish (however I still want my Dim Sum). Since then she’s made caramel popcorn, eggs, chicken and pasta, chicken teriyaki, and many other dishes from this product. However….ironically she still hasn’t made me my chicken and pasta Alfredo.
However! Today I decided to try my hand at making myself breakfast. I figured that one of the best ways to sell this item is to make sure even a non-cook such as myself could use it without failing. This morning I plugged it in, set it to 350 and set the stir feature to “On” and gave it about 1 minute to pre-heat. I stirred 4 eggs in a bowl, added salt, pepper, and Bacon Salt. In the Chef’s Stir Pan I added two tablespoons of canola oil. I then poured the eggs into the stir cooker and covered it. After waiting 1 and a half minutes I took shredded 4 Cheese Mexican Cheese and poured about half a cup into the stir cooker (I didn’t actually measure it, I didn’t have much left so I used what was left, you can judge how much cheese would be enough though). I waited another 30 seconds and then turned the cooker off. I put my fluffy eggs onto a plate and enjoyed a good hot breakfast without any help! I did it! All thanks to this awesome product that we are selling at the store.
With all that said, I highly recommend this product whether you’re a cook, or someone that doesn’t know which end of the fork to eat with. This is without a shadow of a doubt a product that should be in every home with no exceptions. To make sure of that we’ve put it on sale until the end of January 2010. Be sure to order one now!
